A magnitude 3.2 earthquake rattled the Banning area on Thursday afternoon.
According to the U.S. Geological survey, the minor quake hit at 1:17 p.m.; the epicenter was 6 miles north-northwest of Banning, 6 miles northweast of Beaumont and 23 miles east-southeast of San Bernardino.
The quake was 9.1 miles deep.
Banning isn’t the only place shaking — the Calexico region has been experiencing a swarm of larger quakes centered in Mexico. There was a magnitude 3.7 some 23 miles south-southeast of Calexico at 4:18 p.m. Wednesday, followed by aftershocks that include a 3.0 at 9:05 p.m. Wednesday, a 3.4 at 12:44 a.m. Thursday, a 5.0 at 11:23 a.m. Thursday and a 3.3 at 12:43 p.m. Thursday — along with more than a dozen other quakes measuring under 3.0.
