Kris Kristofferson to replace Loretta Lynn at Stagecoach

Actor/singer Kris Kristofferson will take the slot of a recuperating Loretta Lynn at this weekend’s Stagecoach Festival in Indio.

Lynn is recovering from knee surgery and been forced to cancel a number of dates.

Kristofferson will perform on Saturday, along with Kenny Chesney, Mel Tillis, Darius Rucker and the Secret Sisters. Sunday’s lineup features Carrie Underwood, the Punch Brothers, Wanda Jackson, Leon Russell, Ricky Skaggs and k.d. lang.

The festival is held on the grounds of Empire Polo, which hosted the Big 4 show featuring Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax on Saturday; the previous weekend it was the site of the eclectic Coachella Music and Arts Festival.
