Grace Eunice Seibert

graceseibert.jpgGrace Eunice Seibert was born August 6, 1925 in Burton, OH to Valentine and Ethel Woods. She was the 4th of 7 children (4 girls, 3 boys). She passed away on June 20, 2012.

The family eventually moved to Limaville OH where she spent most of her childhood and adult life. She met her future husband Ken when she was 13 years old at the family grocery store and they were were married 5 years later in 1944 and they remained married her entire life.

She studied education at Kent State University and taught for 27 years at Waterloo Elementary School in Atwater OH. She was active in Kappa Delta Pi and the Association of University Women. She especially loved teaching science, inspiring a multitude of 4th graders.

Grace and Ken loved to travel, while still working, but especially after retirement, logging 47 countries and countless drives through the USA. She was an avid photographer, and a voracious reader, but quilting was her passion. She was an active member and past president of the Valley Quilters in Hemet and was recently honored as the quilter of the year at the annual show. She was an inventive and imaginative quilt designer and she produced some magnificent showpieces.

She will be sorely missed.
