Louise Di Amico "Noni"

louiseamico.jpgLouise Di Amico “Noni” age 84, of San Diego, CA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 2, 2012, surrounded by her loving family in Palm Desert. Louise was born on Saturday, October 8, 1927 in Flint, MI, to Raymond and Flora Nichols Meeks.

Louise moved to California in 1958 where she met and married Belmont J. Sanchez in 1959 and enjoyed a great life together until his death in 1987. Together they built the Colonial Country Club in 1971, Hemet, CA which they owned and operated for 35 years.

In 1994 she met Paul Di Amico and they were married in 1995. Louise, known to so many as “Noni”, loved to spend time with her family and she enjoyed traveling the world over. She was especially fond of cruising and made countless friends along the way. While at home Noni enjoyed the horse races, needle point, gin rummy, fine dining and her occasional glass of wine while overlooking the ocean.

Noni’s smile and beautiful blue eyes always lit up a room. She will mostly be remembered for her strength, her kindness, her generosity and love for life. Matthew 5:4

She is survived by her daughter Linda (Joseph) Albano; grandchildren Linda (Dennis) Schouten, Anni, Joseph and Anthony Albano; great grandchildren, Sheila (Bob) Taylor, Dennis Schouten Jr., Pete (Lindsay) Schouten; great-great grandchildren Dexter Schouten, Gaby and Chloe Taylor; brothers Pat (Kathy) Meeks, Jimmie (Marlene) Meeks; sister Susie (Terry) Fisk, and sister-in-law Karen Meeks.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother and sisters, Alice Rix, Mary Hirsch, Elizabeth Soniat and John Meeks.

Visitation will be at Miller-Jones Hemet Mortuary, Hemet, California on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Services will be at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 630 S. Santa Fe Street, San Jacinto, CA 92583 on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 12noon. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Jude’s Research Hospital or Christian Appalachian Project. Arrangements are being handled by Miller - Jones Mortuary & Crematory - Hemet 1501 W. Florida Avenue Hemet, CA 92546.
