Donna Mae "Love" Maeseele

donnamaeseele.jpgDonna Mae “Love” Maeseele 82, resident of Corona, Ca., passed away on March 5, 2012. She was born in Glendale, Ca. on May 31, 1929.

She grew up in Glendale and several communities in Los Angeles County. Donna married John Frank Maeseele on Nov. 21, 1948. She and Johnny lived in Los Angeles until 1956 when they moved to Anaheim where they raised their family. She moved to Cedar City, Utah in 1995, then to Corona, Ca. in 2006. Donna was a school bus driver/trainer for FESD from 1964-1985.

For several years she was a board member of the Bus “Roadeo” competition, and won numerous awards while competing. In 1974 she was named Bus Driver of the Year for Orange County, getting top honors from FESD. She managed/coached Bobbysox teams and mentored many girls for over 20 years beginning in 1964.

She also served on the board of directors for several seasons. Home improvement projects, reading, gardening, baseball, football and helping others were her main hobbies. She was caring, quietly generous and always available to family and friends & touched many hearts.

Donna is survived by 3 sisters, Vivian, Evelyn & Barbara; 4 children, Rene Maeseele, Marie Diehl, Larry & Lynn Maeseele; 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Her ashes will be scattered at sea off Dana Point after a memorial tribute at Dana Point Park to be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Donna’s name to the Alzheimer’s Foundation. alzfdn.org
