Robert Wilson Powell June 19, 1925 - January 21, 2012

Robert Wilson Powell, passed away in Riverside, Saturday, January 21, 2012 at the age of 86 years. He was born in Jefferson County, Alabama, the son of Ralph and Sarah (Berryman) Powell.

A 45 year resident of Riverside, Bob served our country with pride and honor during World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1946 as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force. Following his separation from the service, he worked several years for his father and brother as a dental technician before going to work with the Universal Dental Supply Company.

On April 25, 1952 he married his sweetheart, Janice Brandon in Biloxi, Mississippi. The couple moved to California, where Bob became regional manager for Warner Lambert Management Dental Supply Company. His territory covered all states west of the Mississippi River including Alaska and Hawaii.

He retired after 30 years, but not wanting to slow down, Bob opened and operated his own dental supply office for the next 5 years. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fly fisherman, golfer and gardener.

He was a 15 year member of Ducks Unlimited, a 50 year and Life Member of Burlington Masonic Lodge in Burlington, Alabama and a member of Evergreen Masonic Center in Riverside, CA.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Janice Powell; Loving children, Robert W. Powell, Jr. and wife Kelly, Lynn Tito and her husband Rocco, Kathy Crawford and her husband Mike; 5 precious grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.

Graveside Services with Military Honors will be conducted Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 11:45 A.M. in Riverside National Cemetery. Friends are asked to gather in assembly area no. 4.
