Legendary R&B singer Etta James died at Parkview Hospital on Friday, just days before her 74th birthday.

PBS is cutting 13 staff positions, according to a statement from the network.  PBS has been struggling with a shrinking budget.  Add to that the loss of its Los Angeles affiliate, KCET-TV, which decided it couldn’t afford the licensing fees for PBS programming.
KVCR-TV and KOCE-TV are the PBS affiliates serving Southern California.
