New Jersey Becomes Third State To Ban Tesla’s Direct Sales Model:

The New Jersey vehicle authorities passed a rule that will end Tesla’s direct sales of cars to consumers. The New Jersey Coalition of Automotive Retailers favored the decision because under state law vehicles must be sold by a dealership.

As for Tesla, the company did not issue an immediate statement. However Tesla did post a brief response on its blog.

“This is an affront to the very concept of a free market,” according to Tesla, which has opposed the decision. In closing its sales locations nearly 30 people will lose their jobs, according to Tesla.
