Riverside man killed in crash on Arlington Avenue is identified

News headline from the Riverside Police Department:

elea2914.jpgOn Friday, February 7, 2014 at about 8:26 p.m., police responded to reports of a collision involving two vehicles on Arlington Avenue east of Rutland Avenue.

Based on evidence at the scene, an adult female driving a 2005 Toyota Camry was eastbound on Arlington from Rutland.

She attempted a U-turn mid-block directly in front of a westbound 2007 Chevy truck driven by a 42-year-old Riverside man.

The truck broadsided the car, killing Eleazar Ursu, 24, of Riverside.  He was a passenger in a Toyota Camry.

The unidentified driver of the Camry was transported by ambulance to Riverside Community Hospital where she is in critical condition.

The driver of the truck was also taken by ambulance to Riverside Community Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The Riverside Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team responded to the scene and is investigating the collision.
