Body found in Riverside trunk related to double-fatal shooting in Mission Valley mall

On Friday, January 17, 2014, at approximately 11:45 a.m. a caller told police dispatch that a vehicle was parked in the parking lot located at 19530 Van Buren with a foul odor coming from the trunk area.

Police officers responded to the location and met with the reporting party who pointed the vehicle out.  Officers gained entry into the vehicle trunk and found the body of a deceased male.  A records check of the vehicles license plate revealed the vehicle was related to a missing person’s case in San Diego.

San Diego Police Department was notified and investigators from that agency responded to the scene.

Detectives from the Robbery/Homicide Unit responded to the scene and were assisted in their investigation by personnel from the Forensic Evidence Unit.sdriverside.jpg
