Third suspect arrested suspected in New Year’s Eve murder

News headline from the Chino Police Department:
Chino Police Officers arrested a third suspect wanted in connection with the New Year’s Eve shooting that left one man dead and another seriously wounded.

Francisco Orozco Jr., 22, of Chino, was arrested without incident near the Mexico border yesterday, at approximately 11:00 a.m. Chino Police Detectives transported Orozco to the West Valley Detention Center where he was booked on a warrant for murder. With this arrest, all suspects wanted for the murder are now in custody.

Victims Robert Sanchez and a second man were shot at approximately 9:00 p.m., on Tuesday, December 31, in the 12800 block of Benson Avenue. Sanchez was transported to the Chino Valley Medical Center, where he died as a result of his injuries. The second victim was hospitalized for his injuries and has since been since released.

Four days later, on Saturday, January 4, Police in Grand Island, Nebraska arrested Angel Edwardo Valenciana, 24, of Los Angeles, in connection with the shooting. Chino Police Officers are working to extradite Valenciana back to California. David Colomo, 19, of Bell Gardens, was arrested near the Mexico border on January 11.

Colomo was transported to the West Valley Detention Center by Detectives where he was booked on a warrant for murder.
