Riverside motorcycle rider dies after hitting car near Adams Elementary School

On Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at about 6:04 p.m., police responded to reports of a collision involving a motorcycle into a vehicle on Colorado Avenue west of Adams Street.

According to witnesses, a 30-year-old Riverside man was driving his 2008 Suzuki GSXR 1000 motorcycle eastbound on Colorado approaching Adams. A 2006 Nissan Altima, driven by a 33-year-old Riverside man, pulled out of the driveway of Adams Elementary School in front of the on-coming motorcycle.

The driver of the motorcycle was unable to stop and collided with the side of the car.

The driver of the motorcycle was transported by ambulance to Riverside Community Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. His identity is being withheld pending coroner notifications to family.

The Riverside Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team responded to the scene and is investigating the collision. Anyone with further information is asked to contact Detective Ken Madsen at (951) 826-8723.
