Riverside City Councilman Steve Adams running for Congress

adamsfile61213.jpgRiverside City Council veteran and former police officer Steve Adams has announced that he will run for the newly drawn 41st District congressional seat in 2014.

The district was redrawn as a result of the 2010 census and now includes Riverside, Moreno Valley and Perris.

Democrat Mark Takano, a longtime teacher and 22-year member of the Riverside Community College board of trustees, was the first to win the new Riverside County congressional seat last November, defeating Republican John Tavaglione.

Adams is currently serving his third term as councilman for Riverside’s Ward 7 and is currently the only Republican who has begun a campaign for Takano’s seat in the House of Representatives.
