Loma Linda study: Vegetarians live longer

A Loma Linda University study published in the JAMA Internal Medicine journal reports that vegetarians have a 12 percent lower risk of death than meat eaters. More than 73,000 Seventh-Day Adventists — whose church encourages a vegetarian diet — participated in the nearly six-year study, which also showed that the vegetarian diet tends to work better for men than women.
