Journalist Ana Garcia, a former anchor, and recent investigative reporter has left NBC4 News in Los Angeles. The change was announced in a memo.
It informed staff that June 24 had been Garcia’s last day.
The widely-circulated note lauded her accomplishments. “Ana spent more than a decade at the station, working as anchor of the Midday and 6p newscast as well as an investigative reporter. Most recently Ana lead (spelling error included as written) the Get Garcia consumer franchise.,” according to News Director Todd Mokhtari.
Garcia has been a familiar face on NBC4 News since 2001. Most recently her “Get Garcia, Get Results” series became part of the consumer team that was strengthened after NBC was purchased by Comcast.
Ana Garcia has been honored with 6 Emmy awards.
Whatever prompted the change, KNBC vice president of news Todd Mokhtari didn’t reveal.
