One piece of unfinished business in California politics.  It’s the State Senate District 40, which is currently empty; new in fact as a result redistricting.

Governor Jerry Brown declared a special election be held to fill the seat.  Speculation has been that Ben Hueso, a Democrat would be the likely pick.  However last week new names emerged.   ]

Anna Nevenic, also a democratic , has added her name to the list.  She is a Nurse and and Author.

Xanthi Gionis, a Republican, and declares herself a professor, author and businesswoman.

The contest will be held Marth 12.  Some write-in candidates have also expressed intention, but their names have not been confirmed by the Riverside County Registrar of Voters.
