News headline from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department:

At around 5:30 p.m. on November 13th, Jurupa Valley Station deputies assigned to the Norco office responded to an injury vehicle collision involving a horse and rider in the 3500 block of Pedley Avenue in Norco.  During the preliminary investigation, deputies learned that the horse became skittish and attempted to run or jump over a stopped vehicle in the roadway.

During the collision between the horse and the vehicle, the rider was thrown from the horse and was transported to a local hospital.  The driver of the vehicle was treated for a complaint of pain and released from the scene.

Alcohol is not suspected as a contributing factor in this collision.
