Announcement from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department:

The Calimesa Police Department, in coordination with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, is pleased to announce a free “Shred-a-Thon” on November 3rd in Calimesa.

The event is for the safe and secure disposal of personal records or documents that contain sensitive or personal information that, if improperly disposed of, could be used to facilitate fraud or identity theft.

This service is being provided at no cost to the public, and is co-sponsored by Sergeant Shredder, Shredding Services of America, Inc. and Bob’s Big Boy restaurant.

Residents can witness the destruction of their records or documents onsite.

Representatives of the Calimesa Police Department will be on hand to provide crime and identity theft prevention information to the public.

A limit of five boxes (banker box size) per person is suggested.

Items recommended for shredding include records or documents containing:
Social Security Numbers Credit Cards Cancelled Checks Utility Bills Insurance Documents Deposition Transcripts Correspondence	Credit Information Financial & Tax Records Pay Stubs Password Information Loan Documents Drafts of Bids	Credit Card Numbers Bank Statements Payroll Reports PIN Codes Medical Records Contracts

The Shred-a-Thon is from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the parking lot of Bob’s Big Boy restaurant, located at 540 Sandalwood Drive in Calimesa.
