News headline from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department:
At around 4:00 p.m. on October 2nd, officers from the Menifee Police Department responded to a call of a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian inside a residential garage in the 26800 block of Tropicana Drive, in a Menifee neighborhood between McCall Boulevard and Ethanac Road. The pedestrian had suffered serious injuries.
The collision involved the resident, an 86-year-old man, pulling his truck into the garage at his home. He misjudged the placement of his truck and hit some items in the garage. His 82-year-old wife entered the garage to help guide him as he maneuvered the truck. The man lost control of the truck and accelerated, hitting his wife and pinning her against the wall inside the garage. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment where she died of the injuries incurred during the collision.
The investigation is continuing and anyone that may have witnessed the collision or may have further information is asked to call Officer Jared Howe at 951-210-1000.
