News headline from the Riverside Police Department:
Shortly after 10:00 a.m. on October 26th, Riverside Police received a call from the Premier Service Bank located at 3637 Arlington. The employee/caller reported that the bank was being robbed.
The dispatcher kept the caller on the phone line as officers were sent to the location.
The suspect ran off and the employee provided officers with the suspect’s direction of travel. Officers arrived in the area and located the suspect a short distance from the bank.
The suspect was arrested and identified as the robbery suspect by witnesses.
The suspect, James David Grijalva, 64, of Mira Loma, was interviewed by detectives. During the interview Grijalva confessed to committing this robbery and two additional bank robberies. One of the robberies occurred at the same bank on September 6th and the other robbery occurred on August 30th, at a Chase Bank located in the Jurupa Valley area of Riverside County. After being interviewed, Grijalva was transported to the Riverside County Jail and booked on three counts of robbery.
