News headline from the Redlands Police Department:
A 22-year-old Redlands man was arrested for sexual assault shortly after a woman was assaulted Tuesday afternoon.
The 28-year-old woman was walking on the sidewalk near Crafton Park in the 1700 block of North Wabash Avenue at about 12:30 p.m. on September 4th, when she was approached from behind by a man who grabbed her and started to pull off her clothes.
The woman fought the man off and ran into a nearby Tender Care child care business where employees called police. Employees at the child care also alerted school employees at nearby Crafton Elementary School and provided a suspect description.
Redlands Unified School District security personnel saw the suspect walking in front of the school and detained him until police arrived.
The suspect, identified as Brian Mishak, was arrested and booked at Central Detention Center for attempted rape.
