News headline from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department:
On September 12th at about 10:45 a.m., the plaintiff to a domestic violence restraining order case being heard at the Family Law Court, located at 4175 Main Street in Riverside, asked for a security escort to the plaintiff’s automobile parked nearby. While doing so, the defendant in the case, identified as Christopher Battle (pictured right), 36, of San Diego, drove his automobile up next to the plaintiff and yelled a threat in the presence of deputies.
Battle drove off, but was subsequently located nearby and arrested for misdemeanor violation of a domestic violence restraining order. He was booked on that charge at the Riverside County Sheriff’s Robert Presley Detention Center and was subsequently released on bail early the following morning.
Deputies continued to investigate this incident on September 13th, substantiating incidents of felony assault with a deadly weapon and stalking, where Battle targeted the plaintiff elsewhere in the city of Riverside earlier in the day on September 12th. Later that day, a magistrate issued a felony warrant for Battle’s arrest.
At around 10:00 p.m. on September 13th, Battle was arrested for the arrest warrant at a residence in the 500 block of Cardiff Street in San Diego. Battle was subsequently booked on the felony charges at the Riverside County Sheriff’s Southwest Detention Center. Bail is presently set at $1,000,000.00.
Anyone with information pertaining to these incidents is asked to contact Corporal Shannon Wheeler at 951-955-2420.
