Riverside invites public to annual meeting to review code of ethics and conduct

Announcement from the City of Riverside:

The public is invited to recommend amendments to the code of city government ethics and conduct this month at city hall.

The City Council Governmental Affairs Committee is holding an annual meeting on September 26th at 3:30 p.m. to formulate recommendations for the council at 3:30 p.m.  The meeting will held in the Mayor’s Ceremonial Room on the Seventh Floor of Riverside City Hall, and will ask for contributions from board and commission chairs as well as from the public.

As required by an amendment to the charter approved by voters in 2004, the city adopted a code of ethics and conduct.  The Mayor, City Council, and members of city boards, commissions, and committees are subject to the code.  This code is reviewed annually for its effectiveness and application.

The recommendations will be presented to the City Council on October 9th at 7:00 p.m. in the Art Pick Council Chamber.  The public is invited to attend.

“This annual meeting is an important outreach of our local government,” said City Clerk Colleen Nicol.  “The input of our residents is essential for the committee to do its job properly.”

For more information, visit Riverside’s website at www.riversideca.gov or contact the City Clerk’s Office at 951-826-5557 for a brochure and a copy of the code.

Riverside City Hall is located at 3900 Main Street in downtown Riverside.
