News headline from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department:

At around 9:00 a.m. on September 21st, detectives from the Moreno Valley Police received information regarding the sexual assault of a child.  During the course of the investigation, detectives identified Rickey Davis Jr., 39, of Moreno Valley, as the suspect who was involved in this crime.

Based on this information, the Moreno Valley Problem Oriented Policing Unit and the Gang team began a surveillance operation in the area Davis is known to frequent.  Later that evening, at around 6:00 p.m., Davis was seen walking in the area of Dyna Place and Theresa Avenue, a neighborhood located few blocks east of March Air Reserve Base in Moreno Valley.

Davis was taken into custody without incident and later booked into custody at the Robert Presley Detention Center for committing lewd acts with a child.
