Announcement from the Redlands Police Department:
Animals at the Redlands Animal Shelter will soon see an upgrade to their living conditions thanks to the generosity of The Home Depot Foundation.
On July 26th, the Redlands City Council accepted an $850 grant from The Home Depot Foundation, as well as a pledge of volunteers and supplies to make repairs and upgrades to the shelter at 504 North Kansas Street.
On Saturday, August 18th, volunteers from The Home Depot, along with Animal Shelter and Police Department staff and volunteers, will perform work on fences in the animal viewing area, repair broken panels in the kennels, remove bird droppings, and construct coverings to shelter the kennels from the elements as well as items that can affect their health.
Last year more than 1,300 dogs and cats were housed in the shelter waiting for adoption or return to their owners. The repairs and improvements to the shelter will provide for the comfort of each of these animals.
