News headline from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department:
At around 5:30 p.m. on August 10th, deputies from the Perris Station responded to a report of a body found in the area of Webster Avenue and Harley Knox Boulevard, east of the I-215 freeway, in the unincorporated area of Perris. Deputies arrived and located the deceased body of a Hispanic male adult, determined to be the victim of homicidal violence.
Investigators from the Perris Station and investigators from the Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation.
The deceased male was later identified as Fernando Renteria, 34, of Moreno Valley. Investigators developed information that suggested Renteria may have been murdered in Moreno Valley and later moved to the Perris area.
