Romney picks Congressman Paul Ryan for Vice President contest

Mitt Romney has decided that Congressman Paul Ryan will be his vice-presidential mate in the Republican contest for President of the United States.

Ryan, 42, represents Wisconsin’s 1st congressional district. He was elected in 1999. In March 2012 Rep. Ryan (R-Wisc.) told Fox News he’d consider it if asked to run for vice president, but he also said he had not given it much thought.

The formal announcement will be made by the Romney campaign in Norfolk, VA.
