A woman who was reported missing under unusual circumstances on Monday night was found murdered in a San Diego motel room on Wednesday afternoon. Her boyfriend, also reported missing Monday night, is still missing and is now a person of interest.
On Monday, August 6th, Perris Station Investigations Unit received a report of two missing persons last seen on August 4th: Christine Stewart, 47, of Canyon Lake, and Joseph Dorsey, 27, of Lake Elsinore. They were believed to be together, last seen in the Lake Elsinore area, and the circumstances surrounding their disappearance were unknown.
Christine (pictured top right) was described as a white female, 5′2″ with reddish-blond hair. Joseph (pictured bottom right) is a white male, 6′1″ with brown hair.
At around 2:00 p.m. on August 8th, investigators from the Perris Sheriff’s Station responded to a northern San Diego area motel, located in the 13800 block of Poway Road in Poway. There they found Christine Stewart deceased inside a motel room. It appeared she had been murdered elsewhere and transported to the motel where her body was found. Christine was reportedly last seen with her boyfriend, Joseph Dorsey.
Investigators are currently looking for Dorsey. He was last seen driving a 2003 Ford Explorer with California license plate number 6UDY773. The SUV is dark blue with a gray primered hood and front fender. The vehicle year was previously reported as 1994, but was later corrected to 2003.
No arrests have been made, and this is an active and ongoing investigation.
