News headline from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department:
Due to the changes in the Lake Elsinore Unified School District’s student busing, the Lake Elsinore Police Department will be redirecting its traffic resources to provide increased traffic enforcement in and around the schools located in the city of Lake Elsinore.
As the new school year begins, the department is anticipating an increase in traffic in and around the school zones. Parents, family members and anyone responsible for dropping off or picking up students are encouraged to plan accordingly and allow more time when driving in the school zones. The increased traffic will make dropping off and picking up students more time-consuming.
The Lake Elsinore Police Department Traffic Team will be enforcing all applicable laws while conducting this stepped up school enforcement.
The department’s primary concern is the safety of students and public.
Any questions regarding the department’s enforcement plan can be directed to Sergeant Peter Giannakakos at 951-245-3345.
