The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for western Riverside County until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 12th.

NWS is reporting that trained weather spotters reported a nearly stationary tornado along route 74 just west of the I-15 freeway in the Lake Elsinore area.

CAL FIRE/Riverside County firefighters responded to the report of multiple power lines down with one vehicle trapped due to the
tornado in the Nuevo area.  Southern California Edison is enroute to work on the multiple power lines down, specifically on
Ramona Expressway which will remain closed for the duration of the incident.

No injuries were reported.

As of 10:00 p.m. Sunday night, power is still out to several homes in Perris as the snapped power poles are still being repaired. The power is expected to be out until Monday morning.
