The National Weather Service has issued flash flood warnings for this afternoon, August 17th, for the Inland Empire, specifically northwestern Riverside County and southwestern San Bernardino County around the areas of Yucaipa, Calimesa, Forest Falls, and Oak Glen.

Heavy rain has already flooded streets in those areas.

Mudslides have been reported in Forest Falls, with mud 5 feet deep in some spots.

Thunder has been heard in Riverside since about 1:30 p.m.

Drivers are reminded to detour around areas where the water is covering the road.  It only takes a few inches of rapidly flowing water to carry away a vehicle.
