Several strong earthquakes in Brawley, near San Diego

People in San Diego felt several moderate earthquakes Sunday.  The strongest was 5.3 in magnitude.  The epicenter was Brawley, according to the USGS.  The quake happened at 12:30 p.m.

A swarm of quakes in Brawley started with a magnitude 3.9 quake at 10:02 a.m., and followed quickly by a 3.4 quake.

As of this report 11 quakes have happened in the area of the Salton Sea.

The USGS also reports quakes with magnitudes of 4.0, 4.0. 4.6 and 4.7 each during the noon hour on Sunday.
