News headline from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department:
At around 2:35 p.m. on July 5th, officers from the Temecula Police Department responded to the area of Old Town Front Street south of Rancho California Road regarding a vehicle/pedestrian collision. Upon their arrival, they determined a white Chevy pickup was traveling south in the parking area of the Auntie Cora’s Bakery at 28290 Old Town Front Street and struck a 3-year-old boy in the parking lot.
The child, who was later identified as Sean Abude of Temecula, was transported via ground ambulance to Rancho Springs Medical Center in Murrieta where he died from his injuries.
The parking area where this incident occurred was closed for approximately six hours while the Temecula Police Department’s Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team conducted their investigation. A cause or associated factor contributing to the accident will be determined upon completion of the investigation.
