Temecula Police arrested a man on Saturday in connection with a rape and robbery that occurred at an area hotel on June 28th.
On June 29th, officers from the Temecula Police Department investigated a report of a rape and robbery that occurred at the Quality Inn in Temecula the previous evening. They learned that the male suspect met the female victim at the motel and raped and robbed her at gunpoint inside of her motel room.
Detectives from the Temecula Police Department were assigned to the case and conducted a follow-up investigation during the weeks that followed.
On July 27th, detectives tracked the suspect, identified as Melbrough Williams, 44, of Murrieta, to the city of Costa Mesa. They alerted Costa Mesa Police and officers from the Costa Mesa Police Department were able to contact and detain the Williams without incident.
At around 12:05 a.m. on July 28th, detectives from the Temecula Police Department served a search warrant at Williams’ residence in the 40300 block of Jacob Way in Temecula. They also interviewed the suspect regarding this case.
Melbrough Williams was arrested for rape and robbery and booked on those charges into the Southwest Detention Center.
