News headline from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department:
Four armed robberies of retail businesses have been reported in the desert area between June 22 and July 5th, all of which are believed to be related. Two were in the city of La Quinta and two were in the unincorporated area of Bermuda Dunes. In each robbery, a single male suspect entered the business, brandished a handgun, and demanded money. Each time, the suspect ran off and was seen leaving the area in a white 1990’s model four-door sedan, possibly a Toyota or Lexus, that was driven by another male. Nobody was injured during any of the robberies.
The suspect is described as a white male adult, 20-25 years-old, 5′9″ to 6′ tall with a thin build and brown hair. The driver of the vehicle was only described as a male adult.
The robberies occurred at the following locations:
- Dairy Queen, located at 41-800 Washington Street in Bermuda Dunes on June 22nd
- Cold Stone Creamery, located at 78-370 Highway 111 in La Quinta on July 4th
- Teddy’s Donuts, located at 40-100 Washington Street in Bermuda Dunes on July 5th
- China Joe’s, located at 78-550 Highway 111 in La Quinta on July 5th
