Officers of the Chino Police Department, with the assistance of multiple agencies, arrested a man believed to be the suspect in the recent string of burglaries that have taken place in Chino since late May.  Diego Escobar, 29, of Anaheim, is currently in custody at the West Valley Detention Center; he was booked on burglary/residential robbery, and for an outstanding warrant.

On July 5th, officers of the Chino Police Department identified Escobar as the suspect and the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office issued a warrant for his arrest.

With the assistance of the California Department of Corrections Fugitive Apprehension Team and the U.S. Marshall’s Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force, Escobar was located at the Royal Roman Motel shortly before 11:00 a.m. on July 6th.   The law enforcement team arrested Escobar at the motel, located at 1504 East First Street in Santa Ana, without incident.

“We are very pleased to have a suspect in custody,” said Police Chief Miles Pruitt.  “I appreciate the assistance of our fellow agencies in helping us to make this arrest; the resources they provided proved to be valuable in locating our suspect.  I look forward to a continued relationship with the California Department of Corrections Fugitive Apprehension Team and the U.S. Marshall’s Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force,” said the Chief.
