News headline from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department:
Shortly after noon on July 25th, officers from the Moreno Valley Police Department responded to a residential burglary in progress in the 13900 block of Chagall Court in Moreno Valley. The caller reported that two men were acting suspicious and had been seen jumping a fence into the backyard of the residence.
Patrol officers responded and located Frank Eason, 41, and Enrique Aguirre, 38, both of Moreno Valley, in front of the residence. Officers checked the residence and found Vernell Payton, 48, and Sandra Sekel, 41, also from Moreno Valley, inside.
During the preliminary investigation officers saw numerous items related to counterfeiting and narcotics in plain sight.
Officers assigned to the Burglary Suppression Team (BST) responded and assumed the investigation. Based on the items seen, a search warrant was secured for the residence.
Later that evening, officers executed the search warrant and located several hundred dollar’s worth of counterfeit U.S. currency, several dozen identification cards, bank checks, narcotics, stolen property, and computer equipment used to produce fraudulent checks and counterfeit money.
All four suspects were later booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for charges ranging of counterfeiting, possession of stolen property, parole and probation violations.
BST officers are processing the large amount of suspected stolen property recovered and will be attempting to locate victims in the following days.
The Police Department is asking anyone with additional information about this case to contact the Moreno Valley Police Burglary Suppression Team at 951-486-6700.
