Prescription drugs suspected cause in Rancho Mirage collision

News headline from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department:

At around 12:40 p.m. on July 30th, the Rancho Mirage Police Department responded to a reported two vehicle, non-injury traffic collision.  A Ford Focus driven by Charles J. Church, 61, of Rancho Mirage collided with a Range Rover that was stopped in the left turn lane.  Both vehicles sustained moderate damage.

Church was arrested for driving while under the influence of a prescription medication.

The left turn lane was partially closed for about forty-five minutes.
