News headline from the Riverside Police Department:
On July 25th, the Riverside Police Department responded to the 6000 block of Correll Street after a report of a suspicious device near several residential duplexes. The manager of the complex noticed a suspicious package lying near the front office.
The neighborhood is near Jurupa Avenue and Grand Avenue in the Magnolia Center area of Riverside. Nearby residences were evacuated and the street cordoned off.
The Riverside Police Department’s Technical Services Unit (TSU) was called to the scene. The device was found to be non-explosive and rendered safe by TSU Detectives. The device was collected and all personnel cleared.
The residents were displaced from the homes for approximately three hours while the incident was investigated and the area rendered safe.
