At around 11:45 p.m. on July 27th, officers from the Moreno Valley Police Department Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team responded to a traffic collision on Perris Boulevard, south of Filaree Avenue, east of March Air Reserve Base in Moreno Valley.
Officers found that a 21-year-old man ran across Perris Boulevard into the path of a southbound vehicle and was struck and thrown onto the sidewalk, where he was found by first responders.
The man, who was later identified as Daylon Woods, of Moreno Valley, was transported to Riverside County Regional Medical Center in critical condition with multiple fractures and a head injury. Woods later died from his injuries.
