News headline from the Redlands Police Department:
A 52-year-old homeless man was killed when he was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street away from a marked crosswalk on Redlands Boulevard near California Street.
The accident occurred at about 9:30 p.m. on July 21st, in the eastbound lanes of Redlands Boulevard east of California Street. Police closed traffic lanes in both directions during the investigation.
The Redlands Fire Department performed advanced life support on the victim at the scene. He was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The 36-year-old driver of the vehicle was not injured. Police do not believe the driver was impaired by drugs or alcohol.
