News headline from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department:
Riverside County deputies arrested a man in Hemet on Wednesday night in connection with a home invasion robbery and liquor store robbery earlier in the month.
On July 12th, officers from the San Jacinto Police Department responded to the Hemet Valley Medical Center to interview the victim of a home invasion robbery. The victim, a man in his fifties, said he heard a knock at his door at approximately 4:00 a.m. Seeing a female acquaintance outside, he opened the door and allowed her in.
Directly behind her was a man in his twenties whom the victim did not recognize. Once inside, the male demanded drugs, weapons, and money. The victim denied having any of the three, which angered the suspect. The suspect then picked up a golf club and hit the victim on the head.
Both the suspect and the woman then fled from the residence. The victim was transported to the Hemet Valley Medical Center where he was treated for his head injury.
Investigators assigned to the case located the female acquaintance and were able to identify the male suspect as Ronald Barsz (pictured right), 23, whose whereabouts were unknown.
On July 25th, the San Jacinto Police Department’s Special Enforcement Team located and arrested Ronald Barsz at a residence on the 800 block of East Latham Avenue in Hemet.
In addition to the home invasion robbery, Ronald Barsz was also wanted for a robbery on July 1st, at a liquor store on the 400 block of North State Street in San Jacinto.
Anyone with information about either of these crimes is asked to contact the San Jacinto Police Department at 951-654-2702.
