Police have made a second arrest in connection with the shooting death of a man in Moreno Valley on May 27th.
Romaine Martin, of Moreno Valley, was arrested on June 4th as the result of a lengthy investigation. He was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center.
At around midnight on May 27th, officers from the Moreno Valley Police Department responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 12000 block of Carnation Lane in Moreno Valley. While officers were responding, dispatch received information that there were gunshots at the location and the call was upgraded to a shooting.
The officers arrived on scene within minutes and located a deceased man at the location, the victim of apparent gunshot wounds. He was later identified as Jerry L. Mitchell Jr., 29, of Moreno Valley.
The first of two suspects, Deontray Robinson, of Palm Desert, was arrested following the incident.
