As part of Summerfest for the Temecula Festival of the Arts, the 12th annual Street Painting Festival will be held in Old Town Temecula from Friday, June 22nd, through Sunday, June 24th.
The theme for this year’s festival is a patriotic My County ‘Tis of Thee.
The art creations will start as early as 5:00 p.m on Friday, as more than 100 artists begin creating their giant pastel chalk murals on the asphalt. Some will recreate familiar masterpieces, while others will work on their own creations. Some will be in vivid color, and others will be monochromatic. The drawing continues on Saturday and most will finish up by Sunday, in time for the prizes to be announced.
There will also be a family section where visitors can release their inner-Picasso’s and test their talents by creating their own mural in a 2 by 2 foot square. These are free for the taking, no need to register, and chalk will be provided.
Other art exhibitors will be displaying their works, and food and entertainment will also be available.
Admission is free and all ages are welcome.
