2012-06-06-bailey.jpgThe election results are in, at least partially.  Enough to know that mayoral candidate Rusty Bailey led the election in the number votes, but not enough to avoid a run-off election in November against Ed Adkison, who followed closely behind in second place.

Rusty Bailey (pictured above right), 39, teaches government at Riverside’s Poly High School and is currently Councilman for Riverside’s Ward 3, which can be loosely described as a wide swath stretching from Magnolia Center west to Van Buren Boulevard and the Santa Ana riverbottom.

Ed Adkison (pictured below right), 56, owns a civil engineering firm and is a former city Councilman, representing Riverside’s Ward 5 from 2000 until 2007.  He has remained involved in civic affairs as a member of the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce.

Current Mayor Ron Loveridge, is retiring after serving 18 years as Mayor.
