Margaret Elizabeth Love “Peggy” 1921 - 2012
Peggy passed away peacefully at home, with family by her side on June 14, 2012. She celebrated her 91st birthday on June 10.
Peggy was born to Edward and Margaret McDonald on the 10th of June, 1921 in Newburgh NY. She met her husband “Bill” while in her final year at SUNY, New Paltz. Bill was a flight instructor, during WWII, at
Stewart Air Base, while serving in the Army Air Corps.
Bill and Peggy married, moved to the west coast, and started a family Along with three other teachers, Peggy opened Evergreen Elementary, in Cave Junction, OR. Moving to Hemet, Peggy started teaching for HUSD in 1958.
Her 40 year career touched the hearts and minds of many first graders throughout the valley. Peggy volunteered her skills at various schools after her retirement in 1986. She went on to assist with “Meals on Wheels”. She always looked forward to her CRTA gatherings, and retained her wit and humor.
She was preceded in death by sons Christopher and Patrick, grandson Michael, and her loving husband of 57 years, William Love.
Peggy is survived by daughters Cheri Love of Reno NV, Susan Love Divine of Hemet CA. and daughter-in-law Terri Love. Her loving grandchildren are Timbre Shoemaker, Aaron Divine, Olivia Divine, Justin Divine, Geneva Fisher, Priscilla Frade, Abigail Smith, Matthew Love, Nathan Love, and Stephen Love.
Peggy is also survived by great grandchildren Shea, Sydney, and Wiley Shoemaker, and Avryl Fisher.
Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 5:00pm at Inland Memorial Harford Chapel, 120 Buena Vista St, Hemet, Ca. Interment will be held privately, the following week at Riverside National Cemetery. The family offers a special “thank you” to Teresa, her friend and aide, and to Hospice.
