News headline from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department:
Shortly before midnight on June 2nd, deputies from the Fontana Sheriff’s Station responded to the intersection of Maple Avenue and Jurupa Avenue, just south of the 10 freeway in Bloomington, following a report of shots heard and a male subject down.
Upon arrival, deputies located the victim, later identified as Joseph Anthony Rojas, 33, of Rialto, suffering from gunshot wounds. Medical personnel arrived on scene and Rojas was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton, where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.
The motive for the shooting is unknown. Prior to the shooting, there was a party at a residence in the 11200 block of Maple Avenue.
