DUI/driver’s license checkpoint scheduled in Palm Desert

Announcement from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department:

The Palm Desert Police Department will be conducting a DUI/Drivers’ License checkpoint on Friday, June 29th, from 9:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. in Palm Desert.

By publicizing these enforcement and education efforts, the Palm Desert Police Department believes motorists can be deterred from drinking and driving.  In addition, members of the community are encouraged to designate a sober driver before drinking and operating a motor vehicle.

Traffic volume and weather permitting, all vehicles may be checked and drivers who are under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs will be arrested.

Funding for this operation is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
