Denise Marruffo, life long resident of San Jacinto she passed away surrounded by her family on May 25, 2012. She was born on December 27, 1931 to Ruby Miranda who passed away in 1977.
Denise was a proud Native American from the Pechanga tribe in Temecula and the oldest of eight children. Her brothers, Clifford and Tino Miranda and her sons March Marruffo and Mario Solis also preceded her in death.
She worked at the Virgina Lee Hotel on Main Street in San Jacinto as a housekeeper, a waitress at the Original Little Women’s Café and the Soboba Casino when it first opened. She started out every morning listening to her favorite Country and Mexican songs and a game of solitaire.
She enjoyed crocheting, beading, gourd art work and many other numerous crafts as well as playing cards and crossword puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren, friends and family.
She is survived by her children, Leland (Mike) Miranda, Roland (Danny) Marruffo, Margaret Susan Pope, (Hansel) Conrad Marruffo, Augustine (Val) Marruffo, and Mary (Helen) Vallejo, seventeen grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.
As well as brothers, Carmen (Snooky), Ruben, and Fred (Pinky) Miranda and sisters Gloria Sandoval and Carol Miranda.
Viewing will be at 5pm on Monday June 4th with rosary starting at 7pm at Inland Memorial Harford Chapel, 120 N. Buena Vista St. in Hemet. Mass will be held Tuesday, June 5th at 10 am at St. Anthony’s Church, 630 S. Santa Fe Avenue in San Jacinto; burial immediately following at San Jacinto Valley Cemetery.
