News headline from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department:
At around 6:30 a.m. on June 14th, officers responded to an in-progress vandalism call at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Jurupa Valley. The reporting party was confronted by two unknown males who were in the process of vandalizing the interior of the church. The suspects were frightened away by the reporting party, and they fled eastbound on 60th Street.
Responding officers checked the area for the suspects, but were unable to locate them.
Officers and forensic technicians processed the scene for evidence. Officers also canvassed the neighborhood for additional evidence, similar vandalisms or witnesses, but none were located.
The investigation is ongoing and officers are actively pursuing leads. Jurupa Valley Police are asking the public to come forward with any information which will help solve this crime. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Sergeant Flores at 951-955-2600.
